In 1972, the Government Tool Room & Training Center (GTTC) was established through collaboration between the Government of Karnataka and the Government of Denmark as part of the Bilateral Development Cooperation. Recognizing the significance of skill-based training, the Government of Karnataka further expanded GTTC by establishing another unit in 1992 with the assistance of DANIDA.
The Government Tool Room & Training Centre (GTTC) is a recognized Scientific and Research Organization under the Government of India. It plays a crucial role in providing training and skill development in precision tooling, tool and die making, precision manufacturing, mechatronics, and electronics, thereby transforming unskilled manpower into a skilled workforce.
Over the years, GTTC has incorporated new technologies and advanced equipment, including CAD/CAM, CNC machines for tooling, precision components, industrial lasers, rapid prototyping, reverse engineering, IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), industrial automation, automobile welding, electrical systems, plumbing, and more. These enhancements ensure that GTTC remains at the forefront of technological advancements and provides relevant training in various industry domains.
The Government of Karnataka has established approximately 30 GTTC centers throughout the state to supply skilled manpower and technical services to both existing and emerging industries. Since its establishment, GTTC has successfully trained over 1 lakh candidates through its diverse range of long-term and short-term skill development training programs. These initiatives contribute to the growth and development of a highly skilled workforce in Karnataka and support the industrial needs of the region.
About GTTC Hubli:
Dharwad district GTTC-centre was established in the year 1998 in Hubli which is known as industrial & commerce hub of North Karnataka. GTTC, Hubli is named as Multi Skill Development centre, and have a talented and Skillful young industry work force is being trained.
We have trained 8,000 students. We have advanced machines with private companies as partners. This highly skilled, multi-talented human resource is just not meeting the requirement of industries of North Karnataka but also more the requirement of Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Nasik industries. Our trained candidates are highly respected and well paid in industry sector.

GTTC has sophisticated manufacturing facilities including 3 to 5 axis high-speed CNC Vertical Machining Centres, CNC Lathe, CNC Turn -Mill, CNC Jig Grinding, CNC Spark Erosion, CNC Wire EDM, CMM, Profile Projector, High Power Lasers for Cutting and Engraving.
GTTC is also equipped to offer students a hands-on exposure to Robotics, Industrial Automation, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Electro-Pneumatics, Electro-Hydraulics, Sensors, Micro Controllers, Programmable Logic Circuits and Control Systems.
